Hello!
I'M LAURA.
I want to share a little of my story so you know who I am and why Huge Little Minds exists.
I’ve spent over 14 years working in education, supporting young people through anxiety, overwhelm, behaviour challenges and school pressures. I also trained in therapy and life coaching, giving me a wide range of tools to support families. But even with all that experience… parenting was a whole new world.
Where Huge Little Minds Really Began
When one of my children was around three, they began struggling with anxiety — crying before nursery, panicking on the way, clinging at drop-off.
I tried everything: talking, reassurance, boundaries, rewards, gentle approaches… nothing created lasting change.
When similar struggles appeared again at school, I knew hoping it would pass wasn’t enough. I needed to properly understand what was going on underneath the behaviour and how to support them differently.
I combined what I knew from my work with further training and research, and gradually shaped a simple, child-friendly, realistic approach for everyday family life.
And things started to change — the anxiety eased, mornings became calmer, and life at home felt more manageable. Other parents began asking what we’d done, and when they tried the same approach, they saw positive changes too.
What started as a way to help my own child naturally grew into Huge Little Minds — a practical, compassionate way of helping families create real, lasting change.
Just simple, realistic support that actually fits real family life.
